An appraisal assignment includes onsite inspection of the artwork(s), photography, cataloging, research, data analysis, and report writing. Before commencing an assignment, an estimate of cost and time, and an outline of the assignment will be given in a Letter of Agreement. Fees are based on an hourly rate plus expenses.
Charlotte is available for other related assignments including inventory, management of art-related projects, and consultation.
Charlotte has been involved in the Southern California art market since arriving in the U.S. from Australia over 15 years ago. Charlotte has experience in a variety of roles both the private art market and in art museums. This has given Charlotte comprehensive hands-on familiarity and understanding of various genres including contemporary art, post-war art, contemporary glass, and emerging art, and their markets.
Charlotte has completed a certificate in Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Arts through New York University’s School of Professional Studies and the Appraisers Association of America. She is an Accredited Member of the Appraisers Association of America and is Uniform Standard of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) compliant through March 22, 2026. As well as a Certificate in Appraisal Studies, Charlotte holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from University of Adelaide, South Australia. Charlotte continually enhances her understanding of appraisal studies, practice and standards by participating in classes, webinars, and conferences.
